Easy to clean – Pressed metal splashback

Pressed Metal Splashback

Why choose a pressed metal splashback?  Clean-ability is the first thing you should consider when choosing your kitchen splashback.   A Period Details pressed metal splashback is easy to clean.   Tiles have grout between each one which discolours over time.  Glass is difficult for you to clean so it is streak free.

Period Details aluminium pressed metal panels are a fantastic option for a kitchen splashback.  The large panel format means that each panel covers a long area (1830mm) lengthwise.   The long length minimises joints (overlaps where panels meet).  This makes it easy for you to keep them clean.

Our panels are made from mill grade Aluminum.  Surface scratches will be present.  For ease of cleaning we recommend that we powder coat the panels.   Powder coating fills in this scratches providing you with a smooth surface. You can choose from the Dulux Duralloy, Kinetic, Pearl and Precious range of powdercoat colours.

To clean you just wipe down with a micro fiber cleaning cloth or with warm soapy water.

Maze Pattern Splashback

The Maze pattern was chosen by our client for the splashback in their new kitchen.  This design features a diamond and cross repeat that is a fantastic tile alternative.

This splashback was installed by Period Details.  Our installer, David, doesn’t mind a challenge when installing.   The open shelving area on the left hand side of the second photo certainly provided him with that.

The panels were powdercoated by Period Details in Dulux Duralloy White Satin. To finish off exposed edges (e.g. top of the panels either side of the window) we use our aluminum wallboard capping.  We powdercoat the capping to match.   The wallboard capping will provide you with a neat finish.

For this installation our client choose Dulux Duralloy White Satin.  You can choose from any of the colours in the Duralloy range.  Please keep in mind the availability of matching silicone colours.   Silicones tend to be in white, grey and beige.

When installing we recommend that you center the first panel to the back of the stove and work out from there.  This means that when you are cleaning the splashback you will not be wiping close to an overlap.  Panels have a 7mm reveal at the edge which enables them to overlap in every direction.

The Maze design is suitable for a wide range of wall or ceiling installations.  It can be painted or powder coated in a myriad of colours. Suggested usage includes: kitchen splash backs, bathroom tile alternatives, counter and bar fronts, feature walls and many more.
