Suffolk Latch Iron Matt Black H195 x L165 x W43mm
The Suffolk and Norfolk Latch were invented by the architect William Twopeny (1797-1873). Also known as a thumb latch, the Suffolk Latch is a very simple latch that is often used on gates and external doors. It can also be used internally on Cottage style doors (ledged and braced). Originally Suffolk latches were hand made simple item often made from timber and string but with the advent of the industrial age they became a mass produced item made from cast iron.
As this is a only a latch, for external doors a secure lock should also be added.
